Notes: Susan has worked for General Electric Company in Roanoke, VA for 32 years and is retiring in 2000. She is a very friendly and outgoing person and has given me much help on this family. She traveled with my husband and me to visit our cousins, Wallace and Nellie Jennings in Bedford, VA in 1999 where we were all graciously received, even though we were all strangers at the time.

Susan and her brothers, John and Chuck, attended our 1999 Boone reunion. The three daughters of Charlie Boone who were at the reunion were thrilled to get to meet them, as the Housel's great-grandfather, Robert T. S. Boone, was their favorite uncle when they were children.

Susan bought an aged home in Roanoke several years ago and has done almost all the renovations herself. Out back is a raised deck that she did build herself. She has a beautiful backyard filled with flowers, many being saved from her mother's garden after she had passed away. Susan also has an artist's eye for decorating her home using an eclectic method that works perfectly. Each item looks as if it was always meant to be in that spot, along with vases of fresh flowers or greenery, and bowls of fragrant potpourri here and there. She also loves to read and you will always see several of the latest best sellers in the process of being read. She has also collected many old pictures of departed family members and has them in frames and on display in various rooms. She let me borrow and copy many photos from a family album done by her grandmother, Mary Virginia Boone King. Unfortunately we did not know who many of them were.
